Mitch Speigel was born and raised in Sudbury. After receiving his B Comm from the University of Toronto, he returned to Sudbury to work in the family construction business. In the next twenty years, Acme Construction went from a small housing contractor to a major national entity, doing over $100 million a year. Acme Construction and General Leaseholds Limited, a public real estate development company, both closed in the mid-nineties and Mitch returned to his property management business and created the mortgage brokerage business, both of which remain today. He is a past president of Sudbury Chamber of Commerce, Sudbury Construction Association and many other local and national entities.
